Wisconsin Standards Alignment

How the Boss Kid Build 8-Kit Series maps to Wisconsin's CTE entrepreneurship standards.

Boss Kid Build is a pre-secondary, CTE-adjacent digital entrepreneurship curriculum for learners ages 8–12 (grades 3–6). It builds the vocabulary, mindsets, and habits students need to succeed in high school Career & Technical Education. Every kit develops competencies that align with the entrepreneurship instruction delivered through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) CTE programs.

Wisconsin teaches entrepreneurship through its Marketing, Management & Entrepreneurship (MME) discipline, governed by the 2024 Wisconsin Standards for MME and complemented by Business & Information Technology standards and the Wisconsin Career Readiness Standards. Notably, Wisconsin's MME standards call for entrepreneurship to be taught from the elementary grades onward. This document maps each Boss Kid Build kit to those standards.

Where Entrepreneurship Lives in Wisconsin

Marketing, Management & Entrepreneurship (MME): One of Wisconsin's six CTE disciplines; its 2024 standards call for entrepreneurship from elementary grades through high school.

Business & Information Technology (B&IT): The companion CTE discipline covering business operations, finance, and technology.

Wisconsin Career Readiness Standards: Cross-cutting employability standards that apply to every CTE course.

School-Based Enterprise & CTSOs: Wisconsin supports entrepreneurial student businesses and school-based enterprises; DECA, FBLA, and BPA are the aligned CTSOs.

Kit-by-Kit Alignment

Each kit maps to the Wisconsin course, cluster, or standard it most directly prepares students for. Boss Kid Build is pre-secondary and functions as a CTE on-ramp, not a replacement for Wisconsin's approved courses.

A Note on Alignment Level

Boss Kid Build introduces these standards at an age-appropriate, awareness-and-application level for ages 8–12. Wisconsin's secondary courses carry them to mastery. Because Wisconsin already expects entrepreneurship in the elementary grades, the alignment is an especially strong fit — Boss Kid Build gives those learners a structured way to build the language of business early.
