Tennessee Standards Alignment
How the Boss Kid Build 8-Kit Series maps to Tennessee's CTE entrepreneurship standards.
Boss Kid Build is a pre-secondary, CTE-adjacent digital entrepreneurship curriculum for learners ages 8–12 (grades 3–6). It builds the vocabulary, mindsets, and habits students need to succeed in high school Career & Technical Education. Every kit develops competencies that align with the entrepreneurship instruction delivered through the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) CTE programs.
Tennessee offers a dedicated Entrepreneurship program of study within its Business Management & Entrepreneurship cluster. The sequence moves from Introduction to Business & Marketing through Marketing & Management I: Principles, into the Entrepreneurship course — where students generate ideas, test feasibility, and write a business plan and pitch — and culminates in a Business & Entrepreneurship Practicum built around student-led startups. This document maps each Boss Kid Build kit to those course standards.
Where Entrepreneurship Lives in Tennessee
Introduction to Business & Marketing: The foundational course for all Business, Marketing, and Finance programs of study.
Marketing & Management I: Principles: Covers the marketing mix, promotion, distribution, selling, and economic fundamentals.
Entrepreneurship: Students generate business ideas, research feasibility, study ownership and startup costs, and write and pitch a business plan.
Business & Entrepreneurship Practicum: A capstone built around student-led startups in a simulated or authentic business setting. FBLA and DECA are the aligned CTSOs.
Kit-by-Kit Alignment
Each kit maps to the Tennessee course, cluster, or standard it most directly prepares students for. Boss Kid Build is pre-secondary and functions as a CTE on-ramp, not a replacement for Tennessee's approved courses.

A Note on Alignment Level
Boss Kid Build introduces these focus areas at an age-appropriate, awareness-and-application level for ages 8–12. Tennessee's secondary program of study carries them to mastery. The alignment reflects prerequisite readiness — the concepts and habits that let students arrive in the TDOE Entrepreneurship program already fluent in the language of business.
