About This Document
This TEKS Alignment Document demonstrates how Boss Kid Build’s 8-kit entrepreneurship curriculum series maps to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Entrepreneurship I (19 TAC §127.275, Adopted 2023), currently implemented in Texas schools beginning with the 2024–2025 school year.
Boss Kid Build is a pre-secondary, CTE-adjacent curriculum designed for learners ages 8–12. It serves as a structured on-ramp that builds the foundational vocabulary, mindsets, and skills that prepare students for success in high school CTE Entrepreneurship courses. Every kit in the series develops student expectations that directly align with 19 TAC §127.275 and §127.276.
About Boss Kid Build
Boss Kid Build is a digital entrepreneurship education brand created by Miriam Charles, a former Texas Career and Technical Education (CTE) business educator with an MBA in Entrepreneurship and a background in instructional technology and real estate. Boss Kid Build develops standards-adjacent instructional materials that teach young learners foundational business skills including idea generation, problem-solving, market thinking, and financial decision-making.
The curriculum is organized into four stages mirroring the entrepreneurial lifecycle: Discover → Build → Launch → Grow. Each stage contains two self-paced digital kits, for a complete eight-kit series. Kits are designed to work as standalone units or as a sequential program.

Founder’s Note: "I didn’t just design this curriculum — I lived it. As a CTE educator, I watched high schoolers struggle with entrepreneurship concepts because they had never been given the building blocks. Boss Kid Build gives kids those building blocks before they ever step into a high school classroom." — Miriam Charles, Founder |
Curriculum Positioning: Pre-CTE Pathway
The Texas CTE Entrepreneurship sequence (Entrepreneurship I, II, and Practicum) is designed for high school students in Grades 9–12. Boss Kid Build is intentionally positioned as the pre-CTE on-ramp — the bridge between elementary/middle school and the high school CTE pathway.
