Oregon Standards Alignment

How the Boss Kid Build 8-Kit Series maps to Oregon's CTE entrepreneurship standards.

Boss Kid Build is a pre-secondary, CTE-adjacent digital entrepreneurship curriculum for learners ages 8–12 (grades 3–6). It builds the vocabulary, mindsets, and habits students need to succeed in high school Career & Technical Education. Every kit develops competencies that align with the business instruction delivered through the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) CTE Programs of Study.

Oregon's Business & Management Career Learning Area focuses squarely on the business and entrepreneurial needs of students. Its Programs of Study are built on Oregon Skill Sets — industry-created, industry-validated Knowledge & Skill Statements with Suggested Performance Indicators — across the Business Management & Administration and Marketing clusters, plus cross-cutting Employability Knowledge & Skills. This document maps each Boss Kid Build kit to those skill statements.

Where Entrepreneurship Lives in Oregon

Business & Management Career Learning Area: Oregon's CTE area focused explicitly on the business and entrepreneurial needs of students.

Oregon Skill Sets: Industry-created, industry-validated Knowledge & Skill Statements (with Suggested Performance Indicators) that form the foundation for state-approved Programs of Study.

Business Management & Administration and Marketing Clusters: The career clusters within the area carrying entrepreneurship, marketing, operations, and management skill statements.

Employability Knowledge & Skills and CTSOs: Cross-cutting employability skills required in all programs; DECA, FBLA, and BPA are the aligned CTSOs.

Kit-by-Kit Alignment

Each kit maps to the Oregon course, cluster, or standard it most directly prepares students for. Boss Kid Build is pre-secondary and functions as a CTE on-ramp, not a replacement for Oregon's approved courses.

A Note on Alignment Level

Boss Kid Build introduces these skill statements at an age-appropriate, awareness-and-application level for ages 8–12. Oregon's secondary Programs of Study carry them to mastery. The alignment reflects prerequisite readiness — the concepts and habits that let students arrive in Oregon's Business & Management programs already fluent in the language of business.
