New Jersey Standards Alignment
How the Boss Kid Build 8-Kit Series maps to New Jersey's CTE entrepreneurship standards.
Boss Kid Build is a pre-secondary, CTE-adjacent digital entrepreneurship curriculum for learners ages 8–12 (grades 3–6). It builds the vocabulary, mindsets, and habits students need to succeed in high school Career & Technical Education. Every kit develops competencies that align with the business instruction delivered through the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) CTE programs.
New Jersey organizes CTE within the 16 National Career Clusters — including Business Management & Administration and Marketing — and grounds all of it in the NJ Student Learning Standards for Career Readiness, Life Literacies & Key Skills (9.1–9.4), which begin in the elementary grades. This document maps each Boss Kid Build kit to those standards.

Business Management & Administration and Marketing: Two of New Jersey's 16 National Career Clusters, covering business operations, entrepreneurship, and marketing.
NJSLS — Career Readiness, Life Literacies & Key Skills (9.1–9.4): Standards for financial literacy, career awareness, CTE, and life/key skills that begin in the elementary grades.
Programs of Study (by CIP): Course sequences aligned to high-wage, high-skill, in-demand occupations and industry-valued credentials.
CTSOs: DECA and FBLA provide leadership and competitive-event experiences aligned to the clusters.

Each kit maps to the New Jersey course, cluster, or standard it most directly prepares students for. Boss Kid Build is pre-secondary and functions as a CTE on-ramp, not a replacement for New Jersey's approved courses.

A Note on Alignment Level
Boss Kid Build introduces these standards at an age-appropriate, awareness-and-application level for ages 8–12. New Jersey's secondary clusters carry them to mastery. Because New Jersey's standards begin career readiness in the elementary grades, the alignment is a strong fit — Boss Kid Build gives those learners a structured way to build the language of business early.
