Nevada Standards Alignment

How the Boss Kid Build 8-Kit Series maps to Nevada's CTE entrepreneurship standards.

Boss Kid Build is a pre-secondary, CTE-adjacent digital entrepreneurship curriculum for learners ages 8–12 (grades 3–6). It builds the vocabulary, mindsets, and habits students need to succeed in high school Career & Technical Education. Every kit develops competencies that align with the business instruction delivered through the Nevada Department of Education (NDE) CTE programs.

Nevada organizes CTE within Career Clusters, with entrepreneurship instruction in the Management & Entrepreneurship cluster and its Business Management program. Nevada's program standards are coded as Content Standard → Performance Standard → Performance Indicator (e.g., BMGMT.2.3.4) and include content standards such as Understand Entrepreneurship and Understand Economic Concepts, with the Employability Skills for Career Readiness integrated throughout. This document maps each Boss Kid Build kit to those standards.

Where Entrepreneurship Lives in Nevada

Management & Entrepreneurship Cluster: Nevada's modernized Career Cluster housing business administration, strategic planning, and entrepreneurship.

Business Management Program (BMGMT): Coded program standards structured as Content Standard → Performance Standard → Performance Indicator (e.g., BMGMT.2.3.4), including Understand Entrepreneurship and Understand Economic Concepts.

Employability Skills for Career Readiness: A required, integrated component of all CTE course sequences, measured by the Workplace Readiness Skills Assessment.

Assessments & CTSOs: End-of-Program Technical Assessments (NAC 389.800); DECA and FBLA are the aligned CTSOs.

Kit-by-Kit Alignment

Each kit maps to the Nevada course, cluster, or standard it most directly prepares students for. Boss Kid Build is pre-secondary and functions as a CTE on-ramp, not a replacement for Nevada's approved courses.

A Note on Alignment Level

Boss Kid Build introduces these standards at an age-appropriate, awareness-and-application level for ages 8–12. Nevada's secondary program carries them to mastery. The alignment reflects prerequisite readiness — the concepts and habits that let students arrive in Nevada's Business Management program already fluent in the language of business.
