About This Alignment
The National Content Standards for Entrepreneurship Education are the most widely referenced national framework for entrepreneurship learning in the United States, published by EntreEd (the National Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education) and adopted or referenced by state education agencies across the country. The framework contains fifteen major standards organized into three sections:
Entrepreneurial Skills — the processes and traits/behaviors that set entrepreneurs apart, including the stages of the entrepreneurial process: Discovery, Concept Development, Resourcing, Actualization, and Harvesting.
Ready Skills — the foundational business, communication, economic, and financial-literacy knowledge that supports entrepreneurship study.
Business Functions — the activities performed in starting and running a business, from marketing to operations to financial management.
Because these standards are national rather than state-specific, this alignment applies to Boss Kid Build learners in every state — including states that have not published their own entrepreneurship standards.
A Framework Built the Way Boss Kids Build
The national framework organizes the entrepreneurial process into stages beginning with Discovery — generating ideas, recognizing opportunities, and testing feasibility — then moving through Concept Development, Resourcing, Actualization, and Harvesting. The Boss Kid Build journey follows the same arc: Discover → Build → Launch → Grow. Students aren't just learning entrepreneurship vocabulary — they are living the nationally recognized entrepreneurial process at an age-appropriate level.
