Massachusetts Standards Alignment

How the Boss Kid Build 8-Kit Series maps to Massachusetts's CTE entrepreneurship standards.

Boss Kid Build is a pre-secondary, CTE-adjacent digital entrepreneurship curriculum for learners ages 8–12 (grades 3–6). It builds the vocabulary, mindsets, and habits students need to succeed in high school Career & Technical Education. Every kit develops competencies that align with the business instruction delivered through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) CTE programs.

Massachusetts delivers CTE through Chapter 74 Career Technical Education Frameworks. Its Business Technology program covers principles of business, marketing, economics, financial literacy, sales, and entrepreneurship — and, notably, a Management & Entrepreneurship strand runs across every CTE program in the Commonwealth. This document maps each Boss Kid Build kit to those frameworks.

Where Entrepreneurship Lives in Massachusetts

Business Technology: The Chapter 74 program covering principles of business, marketing, economics, financial literacy, sales, and entrepreneurship.

Management & Entrepreneurship Strand: A common CTE framework strand that runs across all Massachusetts CTE programs.

Chapter 74 CTE Frameworks: The state-mandated frameworks (standards + skills + industry-recognized credentials) for CTE programs.

CTSOs: DECA and FBLA provide leadership and competitive-event experiences aligned to the frameworks.

Kit-by-Kit Alignment

Each kit maps to the Massachusetts course, cluster, or standard it most directly prepares students for. Boss Kid Build is pre-secondary and functions as a CTE on-ramp, not a replacement for Massachusetts's approved courses.

A Note on Alignment Level

Boss Kid Build introduces these frameworks at an age-appropriate, awareness-and-application level for ages 8–12. Massachusetts's secondary programs carry them to mastery. Because a Management & Entrepreneurship strand runs across every Massachusetts CTE program, the alignment is a strong fit — Boss Kid Build builds the entrepreneurial foundation early.
