Kentucky Standards Alignment

How the Boss Kid Build 8-Kit Series maps to Kentucky's CTE entrepreneurship standards.

Boss Kid Build is a pre-secondary, CTE-adjacent digital entrepreneurship curriculum for learners ages 8–12 (grades 3–6). It builds the vocabulary, mindsets, and habits students need to succeed in high school Career & Technical Education. Every kit develops competencies that align with the entrepreneurship instruction delivered through the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Office of CTE.

Kentucky teaches entrepreneurship through the Management and Entrepreneurship pathway (CIP 52.0701.00) in its Business & Marketing Education program area. Kentucky's four-course pathways combine the CTE Academic and Employability Pathway Standards with pathway-specific occupational standards validated by business and industry, and many schools run school-based enterprises. This document maps each Boss Kid Build kit to those standards.

Where Entrepreneurship Lives in Kentucky

Management & Entrepreneurship Pathway (52.0701.00): A four-course pathway covering business ownership, planning, marketing, finance, and management.

Principles of Entrepreneurship: A pathway course on feasibility analysis, business planning, market research, financial projections, and business law.

CTE Academic & Employability + Occupational Standards: Pathway standards that combine academic/employability standards with industry-validated occupational standards.

School-Based Enterprise & CTSOs: Many schools run school-based enterprises; DECA, FBLA, and BPA are the aligned CTSOs.

Kit-by-Kit Alignment

Each kit maps to the Kentucky course, cluster, or standard it most directly prepares students for. Boss Kid Build is pre-secondary and functions as a CTE on-ramp, not a replacement for Kentucky's approved courses.

A Note on Alignment Level

Boss Kid Build introduces these standards at an age-appropriate, awareness-and-application level for ages 8–12. Kentucky's secondary pathway carries them to mastery. The alignment reflects prerequisite readiness — the concepts and habits that let students arrive in Kentucky's Management and Entrepreneurship pathway already fluent in the language of business.
