Kansas Standards Alignment

How the Boss Kid Build 8-Kit Series maps to Kansas's CTE entrepreneurship standards.

Boss Kid Build is a pre-secondary, CTE-adjacent digital entrepreneurship curriculum for learners ages 8–12 (grades 3–6). It builds the vocabulary, mindsets, and habits students need to succeed in high school Career & Technical Education. Every kit develops competencies that align with the business instruction delivered through the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) CTE programs.

Kansas teaches entrepreneurship through the Business Management & Entrepreneurship Pathway (52.0799) in the Management & Entrepreneurship cluster. The pathway sequences Business Essentials into Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Marketing, and Applied Business Development, guided by KSDE course competencies and Pathway Design Sheets and reinforced by Kansas Career Ready Practices. This document maps each Boss Kid Build kit to that pathway.

Where Entrepreneurship Lives in Kansas

Management & Entrepreneurship Cluster: Kansas's modernized cluster housing business administration and entrepreneurship.

Business Management & Entrepreneurship Pathway (52.0799): The pathway sequence: Business Essentials → Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Marketing, and Applied Business Development.

Course Competencies & Pathway Design Sheets: KSDE publishes course competencies and Pathway Design Sheets (blueprints) that define required skills and course order.

Career Ready Practices & CTSOs: Kansas Career Ready Practices run through every pathway; BPA, DECA, and FBLA are the aligned CTSOs.

Kit-by-Kit Alignment

Each kit maps to the Kansas course, cluster, or standard it most directly prepares students for. Boss Kid Build is pre-secondary and functions as a CTE on-ramp, not a replacement for Kansas's approved courses.

A Note on Alignment Level

Boss Kid Build introduces these competencies at an age-appropriate, awareness-and-application level for ages 8–12. Kansas's secondary pathway carries them to mastery. The alignment reflects prerequisite readiness — the concepts and habits that let students arrive in Kansas's Business Management & Entrepreneurship Pathway already fluent in the language of business.
