Idaho Standards Alignment

How the Boss Kid Build 8-Kit Series maps to Idaho's CTE entrepreneurship standards.

Boss Kid Build is a pre-secondary, CTE-adjacent digital entrepreneurship curriculum for learners ages 8–12 (grades 3–6). It builds the vocabulary, mindsets, and habits students need to succeed in high school Career & Technical Education. Every kit develops competencies that align with the business instruction delivered through the Idaho Division of Career Technical Education (IDCTE).

Idaho teaches entrepreneurship within its Business & Marketing Education career area — through the Business Management & Administration and Marketing programs — where students explore leadership, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. These programs are defined by numbered Idaho CTE Content Standards and Performance Standards. This document maps each Boss Kid Build kit to those standards.

Where Entrepreneurship Lives in Idaho

Business & Marketing Education (BME): Idaho's CTE career area covering the Business Management & Administration and Marketing programs.

Business Management & Administration: Focuses on planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating business functions — where entrepreneurship, leadership, and financial literacy are developed.

Content & Performance Standards: Program standards organized into numbered Content Standards and Performance Standards (e.g., Marketing Content Standard 3.0: economic systems, supply and demand, and price).

Workplace Readiness & CTSOs: Idaho's Workplace Readiness standards (creativity, initiative, and problem-solving); BPA, DECA, and FBLA are the aligned CTSOs.

Kit-by-Kit Alignment

Each kit maps to the Idaho course, cluster, or standard it most directly prepares students for. Boss Kid Build is pre-secondary and functions as a CTE on-ramp, not a replacement for Idaho's approved courses.

A Note on Alignment Level

Boss Kid Build introduces these standards at an age-appropriate, awareness-and-application level for ages 8–12. Idaho's secondary programs carry them to mastery. The alignment reflects prerequisite readiness — the concepts and habits that let students arrive in Idaho's Business & Marketing Education programs already fluent in the language of business.
