Arkansas Standards Alignment

How the Boss Kid Build 8-Kit Series maps to Arkansas DCTE entrepreneurship pathways.

Boss Kid Build is a pre-CTE entrepreneurship curriculum for learners ages 8–12 (grades 3–6), designed as the on-ramp to high school Career & Technical Education. Every kit develops competencies that align with the entrepreneurship instruction delivered through the Arkansas Division of Career and Technical Education (DCTE).

Arkansas organizes its Programs of Study around the National Career Clusters® Framework. Entrepreneurship instruction is concentrated in the Management & Entrepreneurship and Marketing & Sales clusters. The crosswalk below maps each kit to those clusters, pathways, and Career-Ready Practices.

Where Entrepreneurship Lives in Arkansas

Management & Entrepreneurship Cluster: The Management, Retail Management, and Office Administration pathways — planning, launching, leading, and running a business.

Marketing & Sales Cluster: The Marketing Business Enterprise, Digital Marketing, and School-Based Enterprise (SBE) pathways — customer discovery, branding, promotion, selling, and real student-run ventures.

Financial Services Cluster — Business Finance: The money side of a venture: budgeting, cost, pricing, and profit.

National Career Clusters® Framework: The structure DCTE uses to define each pathway's knowledge-and-skills statements and the Career-Ready Practices common to every program. DECA, FBLA, and BPA are the aligned CTSOs.

A Note on Alignment Level

Boss Kid Build introduces these focus areas at an age-appropriate, awareness-and-application level for ages 8–12. Arkansas's secondary pathways carry them to mastery and certification. The alignment reflects prerequisite readiness — the concepts and habits that let students arrive in Arkansas CTE already fluent in the language of business.
